Stephanie Gooding B.Sc. (hons) M.Sc.

My degrees are in psychology B.Sc. and multicultural counselling M.Sc. I have worked in the NHS Clinical Psychology and the privately as a counsellor, and am now training in Counselling Psychology. I practice complementary therapies and have been practicing Buddhism for about 10 years.

I have worked creatively with energy for about 15 years. Over this time I have explored the healing journey through dreams, creative visualization, creative arts, shamanic healing and ritual, music and voice, dance and movement. I have also practiced Tibetan Buddhist meditation for about 10 years within the New Kadampa Tradition.

In my private practice I am offering a safe and confidential space to resolve disharmonies, and restore freedom. My understanding of the healing process is that problems exist between people rather than within one person and that healing is the return to harmonious relationships with all things- people, nature, ancestry and spirit, the same as the Maori understanding. This happens in as many ways as there are people. I support people as they return to a place of freedom, belonging and sacredness (sacredness meaning relationships of love and respect).

I am happy to work with emotional, psychological or physical problems, with individuals, couples or families.

I have a particular interest in multicultural and social justice issues in counselling and am happy to arrange translation to work with non-English speaking clients or families.

An initial consultation is free where we can discuss your needs at this time. We can talk through any issues before treatments or after if they arise during treatments.
